IT's 11:30 PM as I'm writing this, and you might ask yourself, "Why? It's been over a year since her last post. Couldn't whatever ramblings wait until morning?
That's a great question. I would love to tell you. (Thing #1 you must know: I love Elyse Myers,, and take every opportunity to use this Elyse-ism).
Ok but in all seriousness, I'm writing to you at this time of night because my brain will NOT rest. For over a moth, my body has conspired to wake me up at hours wayyyy before the sun comes up in Texas.
So what do I do?
Do I lay there and try to sleep?
No.
Do I count sheep?
No.
I get up and work on my author website, a presentation I'm giving to my writing community, Quill &Cup, or staring at my draft of Serena and the Soldier.
Initially, I wanted the early rising and/or late to bed situation to stop. But now that I am able to be productive in ways I can't when my husband and son are awake, it's a habit I may stick wit for a bit.
Hear me explain my feelings with unparalleled conciseness and clarity here
This odd sleep schedule and the extra time I have to work on my book, and beta reads.
Beta reading romance is my favorite thing to do these days. I love it so much that I created a Fiverr account! I am now taking clients over there.
What's the thing you've done for yourself in the last year that you need to add to your list of self care non-negotiables?
